Dear Austrian Jazz Award Committee,
We are Moreland, a soul, jazz, funk, gospel, and RnB band dedicated to creating a dynamic fusion of groove, energy, and soul. Our lead singer, Dwight Moreland Jr., originally from Atlanta, Georgia (USA), brings the rich musical tradition of the American South into our sound, which he has been developing with us in Innsbruck for the past eight years. Together, we blend soulful melodies with jazz and funk rhythms, creating a unique and vibrant style that has resonated with audiences across Europe.
Our journey has taken us to prestigious stages such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Jazzfestival Saalfelden, Poolbar Festival in Feldkirch, as well as sold-out performances in Barcelona’s Jamboree Jazz Club and in clubs in London. We are committed to pushing the boundaries of our music and making a lasting impact on the jazz and soul scene.
